The Christian Brothers Falcons are entered in the Bill Cartwright Invitational tournament at Elk Grove High School. This is an 8 team, 3 game tournament with teams spanning across all divisions of the CIF Sac Joaquin Section. Christian Brothers (3-1) takes on McClatchy in their first game of the tournament on Thursday, December 5th at 4:00 pm. McClatchy comes into the game 3-0, with victories over Johnson, Valley and Sacramento Adventist High School.
Other teams in the tournament include Elk Grove, Lodi, River City, Center, Damonte Ranch and St. Mary’s of Albany. Christian Brothers has already defeated both Lodi and River City, both by close margins. Center (1-1) comes in as the probable tournament favorite, as they are the only team ranked in the Sac Bee’s top 20 preseason Sac Joaquin Section rankings. Elk Grove (3-0) and Christian Brothers are also serious threats to win the tournament. The Falcons have a legitimate shot at coming out of this tournament with a trophy.
The Falcons will face either the winner or loser of Elk Grove vs Center depending on their first round result. With a win, they would play at 7:00 pm on Friday night. With a loss, they would play at 4:00 pm on Friday.
Come out and support the team this week. The tournament runs Thursday, December 5th through Saturday, December 7th.
