On Saturday night, the womens soccer team competed in their first home playoff game against Kimball. It was a beautiful night with perfect conditions for a soccer game. The Falcons came out hard constantly possesing the ball in the middle and the offensive half of the field. With a midfield held down by Sarah Pritchard (24'), Mia Bernet (25') and Courtney Chin (25') there was a consitsant strong attack the falcons got many opportunities towards goal. Obtaining lots of corner kicks in the beginning of the game along with multiple shots on goal, the girls were just warming up. Continuting the first half of the game, Bailey Rakela (25') dominated the front line and successfully put the ball in the back of the net. With the help of refs the tension of the game was starting to get high. Ending the first half with a score of 1-0, your falcons needed to score another goal in order to secure a win. Starting the second half the pressure was on. Still keeping the ball within their possession the girls again, generated many shots on goal. With a corner kick taken by Rachel Davis (24'), Marisela Gaeta (26') connected with a beautiful head ball and scored the second goal for the falcons. With a backline led by Kamryn Lee (24') and Genevieve Muskopf (24'), the focus was now to make sure Kimball wouldn't score. Unfortunately a foul was called on the falcons and Kimball capitalized. The score was now 2-1 towards the last 15 minutes of the game. Defensivley locking down, Kimball didn't get the opportunity to score again and the falcons came up with a well desevered win. Ending the game with a score of 2-1 the lady falcons will now travel to Manteca to take on the tough Bison for their second playoff game. Good luck to the girls playing Wednesday night. Record 9-4-5
