Falcon’s Sports News
Quote of the day:
“Parents: Part of team sports is learning to give your best in a given situation. When you blame refs, coaches & teammates, you’re teaching your child to blame others for their mistakes. You might think you are helping them, but you’re only teaching them how to be excuse-makers. ADVERSITY IS A PART OF LIFE. “

Junior Varsity Women’s Volleyball
JV Ladies Volleyball had an exciting week! We had our tournament last Saturday finishing 2nd in our pool! We had a tough match against St. Mary’s and lost in playoffs but had a fun and exciting day, while everyone had a chance to experience some great volleyball! We then followed up our tournament with a match against Rio Americano on Monday. What an amazing match! We were up 23-17, and unfortunately had a team breakdown on a tough server with Rio ended up taking the set 25-23. We regrouped and focused on coming together as a team. Hillary Chu '22 had an amazing save that was a game-changer, our Lady Falcons came back and took the 2nd set 25-23. Our third set, our team made the decision that this was “our match” and we were taking it. The girls battled hard and changed the momentum, taking the 3rd set 15-8! We are so proud of the mental toughness that these athletes displayed! We had a bye on Wed and have been practicing for our upcoming week against El Camino on Monday and Vista on Wednesday! We always love the support as they are both away games this week! Go Falcons!

Women’s Golf
October 8th
What a great send off for our Seniors, a wrap-up for the Development team, a win against Del Campo and a season ending team gathering.
Carly Krause ‘20, Kat Maebori ‘20, Grace Paterson ‘20 and Carina Singer ‘20 were honored at this Tuesday's match vs DCHS. CB won 217 to 308 with all the seniors and next year’s seniors playing yesterday. Both DC and CB’s seniors were honored with a brief bio, flowers, and cookies.
The development team ended with a parent-daughter 2-person scramble, fun golf, parents and daughter sharing a round of golf all were a great way to close the season all in one afternoon. Coach Boriskin had a great year, organized matches for his team and put on a wonderful event yesterday.
Then it was off to Round Table for a team party, honoring players for their achievements over the season. There are still varsity matches to play, but a nice bow was put on the season over pizza. All players and their families were able to complete a wonderful time together.
A special thanks to May Eqsuivel and Anne Krause for pulling the total day together. The teams are blessed with wonderful players and great family support, and our team parents are second to none.
October 10th
What a comeback!
Coming back from an injury that kept Carly Krause ’20 out of action from the second week in August until last week. Our captain and senior leader Carly Krause fired an even-par 36 at the league's toughest course. With her play, CB was able to lock down the #2 spot in the CAL league entering tournament play. The teams 213 was one of their better scores at Ancil, a course that has given CB nothing but trouble year after year. CB will face all the league teams this Monday at the Alister MacKenzie course and will advance to the section championships on the 21st in Auburn at the Ridge GC.
FOTW?
Recognizing Carly Krause ’20 who’s stroke average would be leading with her few numbers of rounds (40,41,42,36) a 39.7 average has demonstrated leadership and skill while overcoming are wrist injury that held her out of almost every match in her senior year. Carly returns just as the playoff begins and may prove to be the shot in the arm to propel the team to do their best. Carly was elected by her teammates Most Inspirational and Team Captain while recovering from her injury. Leadership, skill, and respect for the women’s golf team in one player. Way to go!
