John Piegaro ('22) had another double digit rebounding game with 10, and Elias Emsieh ('22) not only provided 4 points and 4 rebounds, but more importantly provided the energy and hustle all teams need to succeed.

Men’s Varsity Basketball
Hello again to all you Falcon Faithful! Last Friday our boys traveled to El Camino for the second time this season. It was back and forth in the first half as we found ourselves down by one going into halftime. The second half proved to be a different story. With stellar defense and offensive execution, the Falcons pulled away for a dominating victory. Final score CB 69 EC 54.
Once again on the road, the Varsity Boys looked for revenge against the Raiders of Rio Americano. Up by 16 going into the half, Rio came out firing in the second half. It was a scoring fest with our boys making 14 of 28 three point field goals. With the game tied at 77 the Falcons had the ball out of bounds underneath their own hoop. Perfect execution led to an Angelo Butler ‘20 game winning mid-range jumper with .4 seconds left. Congrats to the boys for another solid league victory.
The Falcons are now 6-3 in CAL and ranked 5th overall in the Division 3 playoff rankings. We travel to host Sac High tonight at 7pm for a battle for second place!!!! Come out and show your support. Go Brothers!
Women’s JV Soccer
JV Girls Soccer had 2 matches this week. Tuesday we played at River City HS and came out victorious with a score of 3-1. 2 goals were scored by Lily Jensen '23 and 1 by Natalie Pu '23. This game was a nice farewell to Lily Jensen '23 who played her last game at JV level and has been promoted to Varsity squad. Thursday we played a rough home match against El Camino Fundamental HS and it took 2 goals in the second half by Cera Lacomb '22 to pull out the victory.
We only have 2 more games left on the schedule next week; home match against Vista Del Lago HS on Tuesday and an away match against Del Campo HS on Thursday to finish the season.
Men’s JV Soccer
On Monday evening our JV boys soccer team took on the Raiders of River City HS. In the first half both teams played very good defense that neither team was able to create many opportunities. In the second half the boys in blue finally were able to get through the stingy defense of the Raiders on an individually and game winner by Demonte Robinson '22.
On Thursday night our young Falcons continued league play taking on the Eagles of El Camino HS. Our young Falcons come out flat during the first half and the Eagles took advantage of that by scoring two goals in the first half. During the second half the boys finally woke up and started dominating the possession of ball and creating multiple scoring opportunities. Unfortunately the boys were unable to find the back of net and the Eagles goalkeeper had much to do with that. At the end it was a great effort by our boys but lost 2-0.
Overall Record 5-5-7
League Record 1-2-3
Men’s Varsity Soccer
CONGRATULATIONS to senior Johnnie White ’20 on signing his NLI to play soccer next year at Life Pacific University. LPU is beginning a brand-new soccer program for next season. We look forward to watching Johnnie and his Warrior teammates as they compete in the GSAC conference.
Thursday evening, the men’s varsity soccer team traveled to El Camino to face the Eagles. On the EC Senior night that celebrated 15 seniors for the home team, the visiting Falcons were in for a long night. As the game began, the home side came out swinging, and jumped on the Falcons early. El Camino took an early lead over CB 1-0, off a ball sent into the box that wasn’t cleared. Two minutes later, the Falcons responded with a goal of their own. Cole Mellor ’21 chipped a ball into the box that was met by Cole Hanna ’21, who put the ball into the net. With the score tied 1-1, El Camino came right back and played a ball past the CB defense. An attacking Eagles player got into the goal area and drew a foul, resulting in a penalty kick. The penalty was converted, giving El Camino the 2-1 lead over the Falcons. Down a goal, the Falcons were not going down without a fight! CB continued to create opportunities and goal-scoring chances for the remainder of the game. However, luck was not on our side. With the help of some spectacular saves by the EC goalkeeper, and some unlucky bounces for the Falcons, the Eagles were able to hold on for the win.
With the loss, the Varsity boys improve to 8-2 in CAL and 13-6-2 Overall. Next week, the Falcons travel to Vista Del Lago on Tuesday and host Del Campo on Thursday. Please come out and support the team on Thursday for the final home game of the year. We will be recognizing our 11 seniors prior to kickoff. The team will find out their playoff seeding on Friday. Stay tuned for playoff updates.
