After a tough loss against the the Davis Blue Devils last Friday, the Christian Brothers Falcons Mens Lacrosse team came ready play against the Granada Matadors. Despite the rainy weather, the Falcons came out strong with senior Kelliah Tarver ‘19 scoring early in the first quarter which was followed up by Granada’s first goal later that quarter. With some new experience on their back and the leadership of senior captain Evan Recanzone ‘19, the Brother's defense was able to stop the Matadors in their tracks, preventing them from scoring in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. With the Brother's defense fighting hard, the offense took the opportunity to spread their wings, scoring four more times. The four Falcon goals came from captains Rowen Antony ‘22 and Sam Ketcher ‘22 with an additional goal from Tarver. Despite Granada scoring two more times in the 4th quarter, the Brothers maintained the lead and ended the game with the first win of the season. After their 5-3 win, head coach Bobby Otsuka says the Falcons are on their way to the goal of a winning record this year. After this win the Falcons are eager to play their first home game Friday March 1st against Bella Vista.
