On Wednesday, the Men’s water polo team played against Rio Americano for a senior night match up.
Starting off strong, Sam Noonan ’20 shot a bullet in the back of the cage; putting the boys on the board early. Rio quickly came back with a goal of their own and the battle began.The first half consisted of constant back and forth scoring. The Rio Raiders went into halftime up by one and brothers’ goalie Andre Verspieren '22 was taken out of the game due to an arm injury. David Pearson ’20 stepped up for his goalie debut and came out of the gates strong blocking several shots. Sam Noonan '20 dropped 5 of the team’s 9 goals but it wasn’t enough to fend off the impressive Rio team.
Even though the boys lost 12-9, the team enjoyed a memorable senior night. The falcons gave it their all and look forward to finishing the season strong.
