Because the Sacramento High game got canceled, the Falcons first league game was against the Rio Americano Raiders at home. This game marked the return of senior Garret Souza ‘23 who was out for the last 15 games due to hip and ankle injuries. In the 1st quarter both the Falcons and the Raiders were playing some good ball, but the Raiders edged out the quarter with a score of 15-12. In the 2nd, the Raiders were making some good shots and the Falcons were taking good drives to the basket, but the Falcons still trailed the Raiders 24-20. Coming out of half the Falcons started off hot by taking the lead, but the Raiders got their lead back at the end of the 3rd by making some open 3 point shots to close out the 3rd quarter 39-33. The Raiders had good ball movement and clutch shotmaking which overcame the Falcons lack of momentum in this game as the Raiders won 58-47. The Falcons are now 10-6 and play their next game today against the Jesuit Marauders in their traditional Holy Hoops matchup. The game is 6pm at Jesuit High School so come out to cheer on your Falcons!
