Last night the Women’s Soccer team played their first playoff game at home against Valley High. The Lady Falcons came out fast and furious from the opening whistle scoring within the first 20 seconds. The CB offense was more than up to the challenge vs the 16th seeded Vikings. The big offensive scoring night started off with Bailey Rakela (’25), who stole the ball at kickoff and drove it down to eventually finish with a goal. Brooklyn Horst (’23) was able to add to the lead, dribbling down the right side and finishing near post past a diving goalie. A few moments later, Lily Jensen (’23) was able to bang one into the back of the net on a beautiful assist from Elizabeth Ledesma (’23). The Falcons then added another goal from Horst (’23) who was able to get behind the defenders and put another banger into the net. By this time, the Vikings had no idea what was happening. To finish off the first half scoring, Peyton McDonald (’23) hit a beautiful shot from about 20 yards out. Half time score 5-0. The 2nd half provided much of the same intensity. The rest of the goal scoring came from Rachel Davis (’24), Jensen’s (’23) 2nd goal for the brace, and Horst (’23) who had an awesome game added another for a hat trick. With the game under control, it allowed the coaching staff to play their JV pickups. Freshman Marisela Gaeta (’26) contributed to the tally scoring her first career varsity goal. The Vikings gave it their all but were clearly outmatched. The final score was a 9-0 win for your Lady Falcons. Next up is a 2nd round playoff home game vs Beyer at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, February 15. Come out and support your Falcons!
