The Christian Brothers Men's Basketball began the second half of Captial Athletic League play on Tuesday night agaisnt the Sac High Dragons at home. The dragons got off to a hot start and took it to the Falcons in the first half. Defensively, the Falcons could not string together stops and offensively they struggled to get any real flow. The Dragons shot the ball well and played aggressive defense leading them to a 38-22 lead at halftime. Christian Brothers came out of the locker room at halftime more hungry and started to play more aggresively but Sac High continued to shoot well and the lead remained 16 points at the end of the third quarter. Then in the 4th quarter the Falcons played extremely well exhibiting some of the best offense all season. This was the best quarter offensively for the Falcons in all of league play. The Falcons put up 27 points and cut the lead to 7 for the majority of the quarter. It was still not enough as Sac High remained poised and were able to keep their lead. The Falcons cannot expect to win with just one great quarter of basketball, as Coach Brown says, "We need to play a full 32 minutes." Spotting a good team like Sac High 16 points in the first half is a tough uphill battle to fight back into. Their record is now 11-12, but playoffs are still in sight for the Falcons. The boys plays again on Friday, January 27, at Rio Americano. Wish them good luck as they look to take down a tough CAL opponent in their home gym. Go Falcons!
