Last Thursday, our Christian Brothers Falcons took on the Capital Christian Cougars to play their second official league game of the season. Junior pitcher, Maya Filger ‘24, dominated the mound, striking out a total of 11 batters and allowing only 1 earned run. Our Lady Falcons took the lead early, scoring two runs within the first few innings and held down the lead for the rest of the game. Our girls left it all out on the field and successfully took home a 2-1 win against the Cougars to secure a #1 spot in their league. Immediately following, the Falcons played the Elk Grove Herd’s this past Monday. Despite the Herd scoring the first run of the game, our Falcon’s came back with energy in the bottom of the second inning when DII commit, Tiana Johnson ‘23, hit a 2-run home run to put our girls in the lead. Our Lady Falcons kept this energy with a double to left field by Hannah Tandy ‘24, a single by Naiomi Garcia ‘24, a double by Ruby Warren ‘24, a single by Sadie Robinson ‘24, and another single by Maya Filger ‘24. The Falcon’s ended the game with a 7-1 lead over the Elk Grove Herd putting their record at (6-3). The softball team is scheduled to return to the field to play away at Sacramento High School this Friday, March 31st at 4:15 for their 3rd league game of the year. Be there to cheer on our Falcons!
