This past weekend, the Falcons finished 2-1-1 in their first preseason tournament. They started off their season playing a well matched Douglas team, who were ranked #6 in Nevada last year. The Falcons started the game with a quick RBI to right field from Kennedy Cunha '22 which allowed Jessica Hennelly ‘19 to score. The game ended in a tie because they only played five innings. The second game was against a quick Madera team out of Fresno. After a fast three runs by the Cougars, the Falcons attempted to come back but lost 4-3 in a close battle. CB bounced back however against their rivals, Saint Francis. Tied 4-4 in the last inning, the Troubadours decided to walk Giana Hays’19 to load the bases with two outs. After a long battle, Gina Matista ‘19 hit a bases clearing double, bringing the score to 7-4 CB. The Falcons finished the tournament strong by defeating Vanden. After a great first inning on offense, the Falcons maintained strong defense throughout the entire game. The Vikings tried to come back but the Falcons kept racking on the runs, finishing the game 8-3. The Falcons will play an away game at Pioneer on this Wednesday.
