This past week the Men's Golf team got there season off to a hot start. Their first match presented some obstacles, facing off a Bear Creek team at a unfamiliar course for many. The team had some ups and downs, with Josh Ryan '23 taking the teams low with a (+2) 38. The rest of the team battled through the windy conditions in the end brining home the first win of the season. Monday is when the action really began. The team headed down to Stockton Golf and Country Club to take part in the St. Mary's Kickoff Classic. There were good players everywhere, with the defending State Champs De La Salle taking part this year. Although the competition was fierce, the team did more then expected. Jack Taylor '24 had a hot putter and incredible course managment to bring home a team low of (+3) 74. Josh Ryan '23 followed just behind with a (+5) 76. Adrian Marquez '25 did not let forgetting his golf shoes at home stop him. He followed the two upperclassmen up with a (+7) 78. In the end the team finished with a 412, a score that would be good enough in a league tournament to qualify for sections. The team looks to carry the momentum onto Thursday as they face off against Rio Americano at Ancil Hoffman. Go Falcons!!!!
