On Wednesday evening the #10 seeded Falcons traveled to Roseville to play the #7 seeded West Park Panthers. There was a little controversy going into this game as the Del Campo Cougars were ranked higher than the Falcons at #8 even though the Falcons beat them twice and had a better record. In spite of this controversy, the Falcons gained a 14-9 lead in the 1st quarter thanks to pushing the ball into transition which got them some easy baskets. The 2nd quarter came and went as the Falcons did everything they needed to do to still lead 27-23. While the Falcons came out cold defensively and allowed the Panthers to come back in the 3rd quarter, the Falcons were able to gain their lead back with smart playmaking to make it 41-35. Trying to maintain their lead in the 4th quarter, the Falcons played at a very good pace while taking care of the ball. The Falcons were also very good with their free throws as they played a big role in the Falcons being able to win this game at 51-46. With the win against the Panthers, the Falcons got their first playoff win in over 5 years which is all thanks to how the team competed and Coach J as he has improved and coached this team to be in this position. The Falcons are now 15-14 as they stunned the 7 seed and play their crosstown rivals in the #2 Sacramento High Dragons for the 3rd time this season. The game is 7pm tomorrow at Sacramento High School. Good luck Falcons and let's keep the ball rolling!
