The Lady Falcons’ final record was 11-2 overall this year, while their team captain Carly Krause ’20 unfortunately had to watch from the sideline due to a pre-season injury that kept her from swinging her clubs until the last few matches of the year. However, Carly was faithfully at each match and tournament, cheering on her team to their successful season. The team worked all season on their game and their teamwork. I asked Carly what her thoughts were on the season and she responded with, “Our teams greatest accomplishment was stepping up this year to perform to the best of our ability. We were able to succeed because each teammate trusted each other."
Golf is significantly different from other sports at CB. Golf is an individual sport, and also a team sport. The Lady Falcons showed that working as a team and supporting each other, could improve their individual scores which translated into team wins. The Lady Falcons kept their strong play going in the first round of sections by placing third in a very competitive field.
Coach Barsanti was so impressed with his team this year. Watching his team compete at such a high level while playing with class and sportsmanship is what every coach hopes to see. He wishes the best of luck for the team’s seniors as they move on in their next golf ventures.
The Lady Falcons are prepared for another successful season next year with Annabelle Horan ’21 leading the way. Annabelle led the team with the lowest average scoring of 41.3 for the year. Annabelle will lead a strong young team that will include Isabella Esquivel ’21, Ja’Lece Hickey ’21, Alison Olivera’22, Brie Briggs’23, Quincy Krause ’23, Nichole Staggs’ 23 and Calista Rapolla ’23. Fly high, Lady Falcons.
