Last Friday, the Lady Falcons Lacrosse team faced the Bella Vista Broncos in their second league matchup of the season. The girls went into the game 0-1 in league play and 2-3 overall but refused to back down from a solid Broncos team filled with talent. After the first half, the falcons narrowly lead 9-8 and did not look back, outscoring the Broncos 14-6 in the second half. The falcons arguably played their best of the season winning 23-14 against one of the top teams in the league. Lily Witry ‘20 put 11 in the back of the net followed up by Sydney Obmann ‘20 with 3 to keep both of their goal tallies running. Megan Cann ‘22 also played an important role, scoring 4 goals to cap off the evening in an impressive outing for the Falcons.
After the game, Cann said “The game went really well, we played hard and worked together to pull off the win. It was a pretty even game in the first half and in the second half we came out stronger. We moved the ball around more and were more aggressive on defense.”
The team now looks ahead to there matchup on Tuesday at 6 against the Clayton Valley Eagles and look to even their record out at 3-3.
