Despite the pouring rains and thunderous storms this past Wednesday, the Christian Brothers Men's Lacrosse came out to fight against the Jesuit in Holy Sticks. The Marauders capitalized on the Falcon's lack of experience by scoring multiple goals, however, the Falcons never lost heart and fought hard for every ground ball. While CB's most experienced defender, Tyler Webster '21, is out on injury, senior captain, Evan Recanzone ‘19, stepped up to lead the team on the defensive end with multiple blocks with the help of fast clears by captains Rowen Antony ‘22 and Sam Ketcher ‘22. With the Brothers defense stopping the Marauders bombardment, the Falcons got to show their drive with a goal in the second quarter from sophomore Tyler Valerio ‘21, assisted by the impressive handing from freshman Joshua Schneider ‘22, who has recently moved into the starting lineup. Though CB's situation looked bleak, the team stepped up to their motto, “Start Fast and Finish Strong”. In the 4th quarter with only seconds left on the clock, outstanding communication and a defensive steal from the Falcons helped them to rush the ball over to the other side of the field. With an assist from Valerio, captain Matt Solari ‘21 finished the ball in the back of the net. Although the Falcons lost 14 to 2, CB walked off the field with there heads held high, knowing that they had gave it their all. Come out and support the Falcons play this Friday against the St. Mary’s Rams.
