With the softball season starting this weekend, the seven returning seniors are looking to avenge a narrow loss to Oakdale in the section quarterfinals last season. The Lady Falcons will turn towards college committed athletes Jessica Hennelly ’19, Giana Hays ’19, and Cece Sidley ’19 to lead the team this upcoming season. In addition, they will rely on Gina Matista ’19, Karina Brouwer ’19, and Victoria Fenner ’21 to lead the team in speed on the bases and in the outfield. The Falcons begin the 2019 season ranked eighteenth in the city by the Sacramento Bee.
The softball team is working hard to achieve their goal of a league championship. They must overcome an exceptionally good Del Campo team and a well coached Vista Del Lago team. Their eyes are also set on a win against their rival, Saint Francis High School, when they play in the annual Albie Aware game. With all of their new talent and the expertise of the veterans, Christian Brothers will continue to be a top team in the Sacramento area. As long as the team can stay healthy, work as a unit, and continue their hard work, this group has the possibility of winning a section banner. Catch the Lady Falcons first game this Saturday at 12 PM against Armijo High School at Inderkum High School.
